ABOUT
Kimberley Ferdinando is an Emmy and Murrow Award-winning journalist and filmmaker. She draws from a versatile background in journalism and the performing arts to create narratively compelling and visually rich cinematic experiences.
Kimberley is the showrunner and executive producer of the limited documentary series The Sing Sing Chronicles, which won the 2025 Emmy Award for Best Documentary. She is also the creator and executive producer of Netflix's first original true crime video podcast, Allegedly with Ellison Barber. Her recent work includes an upcoming Netflix documentary directed by Chris Smith, the critically acclaimed feature film The Disappearance of Shere Hite, and the hit Peacock series John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise.
Kimberley is the recipient of an Emmy Award, two Edward R. Murrow Awards, the Hillman Prize in Journalism, the RFK Book and Journalism Award and the Gracie Award for Best Documentary Series, among other accolades. She has been nominated for Outstanding Producer of a Documentary Motion Picture by the Producers Guild of America, Best Episodic Series by the International Documentary Association, Best Nonfiction Series by Cinema Eye Honors, and multiple Critics Choice Documentary Awards. Her work has inspired scripted adaptations, and her films have been featured at more than 30 festivals around the world, including Sundance, IDFA (Best of Fest), Hot Docs (The Hottest Docs), DOC NYC (Shortlist: Features) and Doc10.

As Executive Producer at NBC News Studios, Kimberley is the lead creative producer for each documentary film, series and podcast that she develops and oversees. Previously, Kimberley worked at Peacock Productions, where she directed and produced documentaries, specials, nonfiction series and live events for broadcast networks and premium cable platforms. She has produced in virtually every nonfiction format and has more than a hundred credits to her name.
Kimberley began her career in public radio as a news reporter at NPR affiliate WFUV- NY, where she was also the longtime producer of Vin Scelsa’s iconic freeform program Idiot’s Delight. She is a native New Yorker, lifelong question-asker, and dance major graduate of NYC's LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts.
